We are accepting applications to join Opus 99 ON AN ONGOING BASIS for Spring of 2023. All students who audition for Opus 99 will be accepted!
Our 2-hour rehearsals will be on Saturday from 10am-noon starting in the Spring of 2023 for all violin, viola, cello, and bass players in grades 3-12 who have had at least one year of playing experience. Exceptions will be made for students younger than grade 3 with a letter of recommendation from a private lesson instructor.
All rehearsals will be held at KLEIN COLLINS HIGH SCHOOL: 20811 ELLA, SPRING, TX 77388.
Auditions determine orchestral placement. We will do our best to place you based on your age and playing level. In our first year, we had two orchestras. We hope to be able to add more orchestras as more students sign up to join our program.
We will not hold live auditions. We are only accepting video auditions. The preferred method of submitting your audition recordings is as an unlisted YouTube link in your application. However, if you encounter technical difficulties with youtube, feel free to email us your audition video. View instructions on how to make an unlisted YouTube video. We encourage you to make a video with the best sound quality available to you. However, a phone video recording is acceptable.
A single 2-3 minute selection of solo music of the applicant's choice. This can be any solo music for your instrument including region/state audition music from any year.
Please submit the recording of the scale and solo selection as a single unlisted YouTube video link.
The auditions will be judged based on the difficulty of the music, technical mastery of the instrument, and the general musicality of the applicant.
We require that all students have the permission of their orchestra director to participate in Opus 99. After we receive your application, we will reach out to your zoned orchestra director to obtain their permission for you to participate.
